Privacy

nolby has not launched. Today this website does exactly one thing with personal data: it lets you join a waitlist. This page describes that honestly, and will be rewritten before the product is live and holding customer data.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we store:

• Your email address.
• Which page you gave it on — for example home, or compare/canny-alternative. This tells us which of our pages are working. It says nothing about you.
• The date and time you submitted it.

That is the complete list of what we store about you. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not use third-party analytics cookies, and we do not build a profile of you.

We also count visits to these pages, anonymously and without cookies. That is described under Analytics below, and it is not tied to your email address or to you.

Why we collect it

To send you one email when nolby launches, and — if you are among the first fifty people on the list — an offer of founding pricing before it is public.

That is the entire purpose. We are not going to sell you unrelated products, share the list with anyone, or add you to a newsletter you did not ask for.

Where it is stored

In a Postgres database hosted by Neon in AWS’s us-east-1 region in the United States. The site itself is hosted by Vercel, and DNS is handled by Cloudflare.

If you are in the UK or EU, that means your email address is transferred to the United States. We rely on the standard contractual clauses our hosting providers have in place for that transfer.

How long we keep it

Until nolby launches and we have sent the email the list exists for, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. We are not going to keep a list of addresses from a launch that already happened.

Getting rid of it

Email support@nolby.co and ask. We will delete your address and confirm that we have. You do not need to explain why, and you do not need to use a particular form of words.

Under UK and EU data protection law you also have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to object to us holding it at all. All three go to the same address and we will answer within 30 days.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, so we know which of our pages people actually read. It is cookieless and it does not identify you.

What it records with each page view: the page URL, where you arrived from, your approximate location (country, region, city), your browser, operating system and device type, and the time. Visitors are counted using a hash derived from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours — your IP address is not stored, and there is no way for us or for Vercel to reconstruct your browsing across different sites, or to link a visit to your email address.

We chose it because it needs no cookie banner, which is a thing we would rather not put in front of you. If you would prefer not to be counted at all, any tracker-blocking extension will stop it, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. The waitlist form does not set one, and the analytics described above does not use them. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies.

Earlier versions of this page said we intended to add privacy-respecting analytics and that this page would change first. It did — this section was written before the analytics went live.

Changes

If this page changes materially before launch, the version you agreed to when you joined still governs what we do with your address. We will not retroactively broaden what we use it for.
