Statuses and the public roadmap
Name your own workflow, choose which positions show as roadmap columns, and decide which ones email the people who voted.
A status is where a piece of feedback is in your workflow. You name them, colour them and order them yourself, and there is no limit on how many you have.
Open Statuses in your workspace to edit the set. It is one list: drag to reorder, edit in place, and save once.
What a status carries
| Name | Whatever you call it. Under review, Next up, Shipped. |
| Colour | A hue from the set, or your own hex value. |
| Marker | The shape beside the name — a disc, a progress ring, a tick or a cross. |
| On the roadmap | Whether posts at this status appear as a roadmap column. |
| Emails voters | Whether moving a post here tells the people who voted for it. |
Two rules
The first status is your inbox and cannot be deleted. Rename it, recolour it — plenty of workspaces call it Inbox — but something has to be where new feedback lands, and your dashboard counts what is waiting by reading it.
Deleting any other status asks you where its posts go. You choose the replacement in the same step. Nothing is removed from your boards behind your back, because a roadmap that quietly loses twelve rows is worse than one that refuses to change.
The public roadmap
Your roadmap is the statuses you ticked on the roadmap, in your order, each one a column of the posts sitting at it. A status that is not ticked still works normally — it just does not appear publicly, which is what you want for Duplicate or Not planned.
Every board you have has its own roadmap at /b/<board>/roadmap as well as the
combined one at /roadmap, so a customer of one product is not reading another
product's plans.
Moving a post
Change a post's status from the post itself or from Triage. If the status you move it to has emails voters ticked, everyone who voted gets told, once.
Before it sends you can add a line of your own, and you can untick the email for that one move without changing the status's setting. People who voted anonymously and never gave an address are not counted — there is nowhere to send to.
Moving a post back and forth does not send again. Each person is told once per post reaching a given status, however many times you change your mind.
